NV Niepoort Tawny Port

A basic Tawny that I found for $11.00 and since it's been at least 3 years or more since I last had it I thought a re-visit was in order. A dark strawberry color with a straight forward raspberry nose. Simple cranberries and cherries are well placed, and unlike many other inexpensive Ports, this has very little overt heat on the nose and palate. This lack of heat allows the fruit to be the dominate flavor and is it's biggest asset. A well made Port especially given the price. 82 Points
