Has anyone had any experience purchasing older bottles from Vintage Wine Gifts in the UK? They seem to have an excellent stock of old Ports, at decent prices even after shipping. But their site is not real long on details about condition of the bottles, they seem more concerned with describing the presentation box the wine comes in. Anyone know these people?
Thanks.

Re: Vintage Wine Gifts
I have met Giles, who owns and runs VWG, and he is a good guy. Uncle Tom knows him much better than I do so can perhaps give a better response.
The prices VWG charge are very much aimed at the birthday and anniversary market in the UK and are always higher than standard retail or auction prices. That said, Giles has acquired an enormous stock of very rare bottles, I believe mainly from UK auctions, that allows him to supply almost any vintage for any occassion you can think of. All of the bottles come in presentation boxes and some come with decanters. This is not a normal retail wine merchant, it is a merchant who specialises in very rare wines to be given as gifts. I have purchase from them a couple of times and have not been disappointed.
