Decant: None - Bottled 1987. Glowing mid-brown colour with a touch of orange in the centre and green on the rim. A nose of honey with a faint touch of VA that complements the other components on the nose. A sweet, pleasant entry with fresh apple acidity coming through to dominate and burn, overwhelming the underlying fruit and syrup flavours. The aftertaste is good, with a decent length and bringing plenty of balanced fruit and sweetness - think of sugar-topped apple pie. Sadly, I found the acidity too dominating to give this wine a higher score. 92 points
