TN: 1995 Warre Quinta da Cavadinha Vintage Port

Decant: 3 hours - Deep red, opaque centre and still deep red on the rim. A lovely mixture of tart blackcurrants and sweet bramble on the nose. In the mouth this is initially very nicely balanced, very silky and carressing. The flavours build up slowly and are dominated by the tart blackcurrant fruit, offset nicely by the sweet bramble. There are lots of tannins in the wine, but these are supportive and hidden by the fruit. Lots of acidity promises a strong future. The aftertaste is delicious, warming and full of fruit but has the long, lingering chocolate taste that is delivered by ripe tannins. An elegant and delicious wine which is going to drink very nicely for at least another decade. 90 points
