Decant: 6 days - From a 50cl sample bottle sent by Tom Archer; decanted for 6 days before being tasted.

Golden colour, a rich brown with an orange rim. Barley sugar nose, straw and a hint of pear drops. Surprisingly dry in the mouth, very tertiary and evolved, with little fruit but lots of nut flavours and that lovely bitter-sweet barley sugar. Quite a delicious tawny and very drinkable. The aftertaste shows a burst of fire and then a warm glow spreads out from the throat, makes the cheeks tingle and only then starts to fadfe to leave a long and lingering warmth of rose-hip syrup. Perhaps another disappointment for a '27, but an enjoyable experience. 88 points
