Decant: 1½ hours - Mature red colour, but colour surprisingly consistent through the rim. Some heat apparent on the nose, almost hidden by a lively spiciness on top of a rose-hip syrup base. The first impression in the mouth is surprisingly dry, but leads to a lovely development with many showing through even before working air through the wine. Beautiful spiciness and fabulous Christmas Pudding mixed in with the plums and cinnamon. There is a warm burst on the aftertaste, with bitter orange zest filling in the cheeks, but this is a little short to be perfect. 91 points
