- 2003 Niepoort Porto Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto (9/9/2010)
Wow! This is such an impressive wine. Cocoa and Coffee notes on the nose. Essence of black fruit. Very dense, thick fruit - but still has transparency. The minerality and a vinous quality really show through. The alcohol is totally in check. There are a lot of tannins lurking underneath, but right now they are buried under wave after wave of fruit. This is really in a good spot right now. If you like them young then you should try one. (From a bottle showing signs of past seepage). (95 pts.)
