Tasted first time at the FTLOP Harvest Tour 2010 lunch at DOC restaurant in Douro Oct 5th, 2010. Then 2.5 weeks later at home in Norway as part of our dinner. The tasting notes were basically identical. At home it was decanted for abt one hour. Deep dark red colour. Fresh cool aroma of dark and red berries. Texture full bodied. Although quite smooth and elegant, it was also powerful at the same time. I like very much this combination which is not experienced too often. Slightly dry towards the end, finish is quite long. With this red wine you taste “the entire Douro valley"! At DOC we were served bird with this wine (do not have the menu here), and at home it was with pasta penne with pesto and chicken. 92 pts. I think this is the highest score I have given for a basic Douro red. On top of that: value-for-money! Will revert after the Reservas have also been tasted for the second time.

Rune,
I too was very impressed with their line up of Douro wines and Ports. This is a producer I will be keeping a close eye on in the future for sure.
