up to $1.50 is my guess. I think it will be a good year until the US dollar starts recovery. :twocents:

Last week we saw nearly 1.42 and today it has fallen below 1.37. Lots of volatility and I wonder how much the recent US election played into that? [foilhat.gif]

Word on the street is that today's movement of the euro was driven by fears over the PIGS debt. Insurance on that debt went to its highest level today.

The US dollar has gained on almost every currency in the last weeks a bit, except for the Chinese Yuan. So score on for Roy, however, the Euro was one of the largest losers percentage wise, so looks like you both have a point!
With the feds printing money last week, I expect further weekness, maybe not to the 1.50 I predicted, but the Euro will pop back up again IMO. its a crazy world. chaos.... :twocents: :scholar:

Everytime any of us predict the future progress of the Euro, we wind up being surprised. Today the Euro has rebounded a drop, not much but it halted its downward slide of .12 from 2 weeks ago which was HUGE.

I know a very prominent Port importer who buys Euros in massive quantities every time the Euro falls below 1.25. I've followed his progress and he has done VERY WELL overall, the past couple of years.

The remedy being, that if any of us plan a trip to the EU, then we cannot under any circimstances talk about the Euro for at least 2 months prior to said trips. Failure to comply will surely mean the Euro will rally and lead to serious cursing from this side of the pond.

In addition to the $600 Bn the Fed is expected to print, there was talk by big Ben of another $75 Bn more. If China's gov't. had not been printing off its own currency, they'd have a leg to stand on in chiding the Fed. [berserker.gif]
