1970 Andresen Colheita Port

Post by Glenn E. »

Tasted at the Andresen lodge in Vila Nova de Gaia on 03-OCT-2010 as part of the 2010 Port Harvest Tour.

1970 Andresen Colheita

Very dark tawny/brown. Smoke, leather, cedar, and wood glue on the nose. Nice, round body showing hints of cinnamon and nutmeg. Caramel and brown sugar show after some time to air in the glass. Perfect acidity. Simply stunning.

Score: 97 points

Sure was stunning! Andresen's best wine of the night. I can see why they keep it for themselves! I hope to try it again soon [beg.gif]

I did like the 1910 better, but it also has an extra 60 years in cask! I can't imagine how good this 1970 is going to be in 2070...
