2007 Dona Matilde Vintage Port

Post by Glenn E. »

Tasted at DOC Restaurant in Folgosa on 05-OCT-2010 as part of the 2010 Port Harvest Tour.
Pairing provided by Chef Rui Paula

2007 Dona Matilde Vintage Port

Color: deep purple, very opaque. Clearly a youngster.
Nose: Blackberry, some blueberry, and some mulberry or boysenberry. A little reserved, probably due to being served slightly chilled.
Palate: Good tannins hit slowly. Good acidity. Rich, tart, vibrant berries.
Finish: Tannins, fruit, mild warmth, and decent length. (Impression of length likely shortened by the presence of food.)

Score: 93 points. An excellent Port, very nearly outstanding. Paired very nicely with the meal.
