2005 Porto Rocha LBV for $20

Post by Glenn E. »

My local QFC just got in a 6-pack. Anyone have any experience with it? I don't see anything in the TNDB. 20 bucks for a good LBV isn't bad at all, plus I can get an extra 10% discount if I buy all 6. But I'd prefer to know something about it before I do that...

Are you kidding? [dash1.gif]

You are worrying about getting six bottles of VP for $108? :beat: <--- Glenn

This should be as difficult a decision as you buying that new 440 bottle storage unit. Heck, buy these 6 bottles of Rocha and you'd only have to buy another 434 bottles of Port to fill it! [berserker.gif]

It's LBV! Yeah, if it were VP I'd have pulled the trigger without thinking. That's how I got those 10 Quinta do Tedo '97 VPs for $21 each.

Like I said, $20 isn't bad for a good LBV, but since I can find LBVs like that pretty regularly (that's typically what I pay for the 2003 Taylor), there's no real need to buy it all up unless it's something really great. [shrug.gif]

I have not had the Rocha 2005 LBV, so I can't be of help. Sorry for missing the LBV part of the equation. I would suggest going in and buying one and mentioning that you'd like to sample it before buying the other 5 ... but to hold them for you and make sure she'd give you the six pack price if you came back after trying the first one, to buy the rest. Win-win.
