2005 Niepoort VP

Post by Eric Menchen »

Through today only at Solano Cellars:
750s - $50 or $59
375s - $29 or $33
First price is if you order a total of six bottles (mixing of 750s and 375s allowed), second price is per individual bottle. I spoke with Jason Lefler (510.525.9463) and ordered a mixed six. You can also order online using coupon code "PORT" to get the price on six. I have no interest in this other than being a customer.

Eric thank for sharing. My brother called me on this to see what I'd say. I told him it is one of Dirk's favorite VP's he's ever created. I was actually not initially as enthused as I felt the 2005 was a definite departure from his 1997/2000/2003 VP style and although the 2005 shows far greater approachability and elegance that some may prefer, I missed the ballsy power of his VPs in their youth with this particular VP. YMMV. You should certainly open one in the next year and see what it is like and let us know too.

The price is certainly good. Again, appreciate you posting this here.

I already had a few 750s, so from this I purchased two more and four 375s to get the discount on six. I'll probably open a 375 this winter or spring and report back here.
