From a batch of LBVs that I tasted over a couple of days in late 2010.
2004 Ramos Pinto LBV
unfiltered, bottled 2008
Color: Dark garnet.
Nose: Tart red fruits, faint alcohol, and a faint stemmy note.
Palate: Tart and fairly dry. Good tannins and decent acidity. Seems likely to pair well with a good steak. A bit of an edge to it.
Finish: Moderate grip. Gets stemmy at the end. Decent length.
Score: 90 points.
