Croft Pink Port
paired with assorted hors d'oeuvres

Surprise! It's pink, though of a darker variety and not hot pink. The nose is fairly plain, but it was served chilled which probably accounts for at least part of that. It's very refreshing and crisp with hints of strawberry and watermelon. The alcohol isn't really noticeable, so this could be a "dangerous" drink on a hot day. Overall quite nice for what it is, and it paired well with the hors d'oeuvres. The ladies at the table all really enjoyed it, so Croft may be on to something here.

Score: 83 points. It's not deep enough or complex enough to rate much more than a "this is pretty good," but it seems to have hit its mark. I felt that this tasting was much better than the last time I had it, and it actually felt like a Port this time, so I've decided to go ahead and give it a rating.
