2007 Dow Vintage Port

Post by Glenn E. »

American Crossword Puzzle Tournament Dow Vertical
New York City
March 19, 2011

My wife participates in the ACPT every year, and conveniently there is a lively Port tasting group in New York City. So every year we plan a Port tasting to coincide with the tournament, and this was the 2011 edition.

2007 Dow Vintage Port
this was near the end of a large vertical, so my notes were getting very sparse. To wit:

It's a 2007. Very young, very fruity, and very nice. Really needs time. Has already started to age in the bottle - some of that very young and very boistrous fruitiness has already started to fade.

Score: 93 points. Still can't figure out where that 100-point rating came from.

I've been as high as 96 before, but 93-94 seems to be my more normal range. This particular bottle was served pop-n-pour by request, so that probably cost it a couple of points.

My subscription hasn't been reactivated yet so I can't see your scores at the moment, but as I recall 93 is closer to your score than 100 is.
