TN: 2002 Casa Ferreirinha Vinha Grande Douro Red
Last of three bottles consumed over a three-year period. 2002 was a difficult year in Douro. Decanted 1 hr. Medium to dark red with a tiny touch of brown. Very nice aroma of the “Douro-style” combining berries and oak in a pleasant way. Medium to full body. Fairly pleasant red wine, but the various parts of the wine is not integrated enough to reach scores in the 90s. Getting the impression that this wine is “over the hill”. Would like to try the product from a better vintage. 88 pts.

I had this wine recently and your impression is similar to mine. Only difference being I didn't see it being over the hill yet, but I also don't think it will get any better than either. A solid wine that should be consumed sooner rather than later for sure.
