1991 Croft Vintage Port

Post by John Danza »

This bottle was brought by a friend to a dinner last night. He had previously decanted it and put it back in the bottle, all a few hours before serving.

The color was still deep purple, looking very young. There was no alcohol heat at all, making it a very easy drink. This is still very youthful, but you can open this right now if you want. This may actually be my first 1991, and I liked a lot.

This is the first excellent Croft since maybe 1970 if not before then. I really have always liked it too, ever since it was born in fact. One can never own too many of these. Friendly young and will make for delicious old bones ... at least as old as it will get in my lifetime. :-)
