TN: 2009 Vinha do Infante Douro red

Post by Rune EG »

Produced by port producer Quinta do Infantado. Decanted 1 hr. Medium to dark red. Cool/fresh young fruit in the aroma. Medium to light body, but still a bit powerful. Unfortunately a “hollow” red wine, which is not of interest (in spite of the pleasant aroma). 82 pts.

I've not had this one, so thanks for the note. If I may ask, what is the selling price of this wine?

When I was in Denmark recently, I got this from one of the stockholders as a gift to test.
Their selling price is abt $ 12.50 per bottle ($ 11 when buying 6 bottles).
In Norway it would probably cost abt $ 17.

It seems Infantado has four levels of Douro red, this being the lowest.
In Odense, Denmark, there is an importer/stockholder called Portugisisk Vinkaelder (Portugese Wine cellar), which has a wide selection where I buy some of the better wines in Douro. And they are also very nice people. Exchange rate DKK/USD = abt 5.17
