Have previously consumed three bottles of the 2002-vintage of this red wine, and liked it (88 pts). Have been curious to try it from a better year, and found it recently in Denmark. This tasting note is based on consuming two bottles as part of dinner in two separate occasions.
Decanted 2.5 hrs. Dark red colour. Very nice deep aroma of berries and oak in a nice balance. Full body. Powerful, balanced, but not really elegant, as the oak and the tannins are too strong. Some spice in the taste as well. Long aftertaste. Should age well. A demanding red wine perfect for meat dinners, but not sipping on its own. Based on price (sold in Denmark for US$ 19 incl VAT/taxes), this is definitely high value-for-money. 92 pts.
