2004 LBV Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: Pop 'n' pour - Half bottle, bottled unfiltered (but cold stabilized) in 2009. Deep red colour, opaque. Pine and blackberry on the nose, fresh and attractive. Medium bodied on the palate, a little hollow initially but fills out well; plenty of tannins and vigour. Fruit is balanced, sweet and very much dominated by blackberry. Slightly hot on the swallow, but has a long finish of dark chocolate and dried blackcurrant. Very tasty port, a lovely drink and one which will cellar for a few years yet. 88 points
