1992 Fonseca Vintage Port

Decant: 16 days - Deep brooding red, opaque and dark. Slightly acrid nose, smelling of sour cherries; stewed and unattractive. Fairly neutral entry, restrained fruit - a mix of blueberry and sour cherry - modest tannins and resolute acidity. Some heat from the acid on swallowing, followed by a long finish of dark chocolate and raisins. Balanced, but very restrained - hopefully more time will bring more interest. 87 points
