1942 Fonseca Guimaraens Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 6 hours - The palest wine of the tasting, a very light orange colour, perhaps only 10% opaque. Weak and light on the nose, slightly medicinal. Elegant entry, light bodied, very floral but with a touch of grapefruit botterness that grows in the mouth. A peppery aftertaste which lasts hotly for a good time. Lovely elegance and very tasty - and also a wine which rewarded patience to allow it to sit and improve in the glass as this was much better at the end of the tasting that at the start. 84 points
