2000 Graham Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 1 hour - Ex-cellars from Vila Nova de Gaia. The first vintage in which the robotic lagares were used. Deep red, but having lost all the youthful purple. 99% opaque, just transparent on the rim. Eucalyptus on the nose, quite floral. Very sweet and balanced entry, lovely texture with a velvet layer of sweet fruit coating and softening some defined tannins and hefty acidity. Warm aftertaste of cinnamon infused plums - great length. A lovely wine.

Small vintage; dry winter giving poor water reserves. A small crop due to limited fruit set because of the water shortage. 94 points
