Decant: Pop 'n' pour - Ex-cellars. Deep red, solid rim and an opaque centre. Beautiful violets on the nose, not as pronounced as in the 2000 Silval. Plentiful fruit on entry and generous tannins give good structure; this port has a nice balance and is elegant in style. A dark chocolate aftertaste leads to a long, fruity finish. 88 points
