1970 Taylor Crusted Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 12 hours - Bottled in 1970. A burnished orange in colour, 30% opaque. Lovely on the nose, showing over-ripe and mouldy orange. Very sweet on the nose, but with a balancing sharpness against the lovely fruit. A little hollow on entry, showing little fruit and plenty of harshness. Air relaeases modest fruit, which does grow to pleasant levels. Light aftertaste, with a mild licorice finish which shows the gentle tannins that are in the wine. 87 points
