Recently been through Dona Maria vintage ports 2005 and 2007, and noticed that both of them have more influence of alcohol in both aroma and taste, than other vintage ports of the same vintages. Purchased one bottle of their 2007 LBV, and unfortunately it was more of the same thing regarding alcohol.
Decanted 2.5 hrs. Darker red colour with a light rim. Aroma was fruity, a bit oak and a touch of spirit. Medium body. Taste influenced by spirit. Fruit and again some oak. A bit “raw” in style. 86 pts.
