TN: NV Espiral Vinho Rose

Post by Brian C. »

This can be found at Trader Joe's for $5 per bottle. Many of you have probably tried Espiral's VV, which goes for $4.50 (Chicago prices). The rose has a decent acidity to it, and tastes of watermelon and strawberries. The effervescence isn't quite like that found in the VV, but it does have some. Unlike the VV, this one is a screw cap. This one grew on me tonight as I consumed it with my TJ's frozen mac and cheese dinner.

The million dollar question...would you buy it again?

I might buy it once in awhile, sure. I'm not going to buy it as often as their VV, if you're wondering about that, too. It's usually too damn cold here to think about opening these wines very often, though. If I was back in AZ (I grew up there) I think I'd be drinking these wines a little more often.

That's all I needed to know. I'll see if my local store has it and give it a try based on your rec. Oh, and it was 85 degrees, sunny and warm here in L.A. today
