NV Quinta do Noval 40 Year Old Tawny Port

Post by Glenn E. »

Didn't take formal notes as this was consumed at a casual dinner, but fabulous as usual. The color is enticing and dark, the flavor is explosive, and the finish is incredibly long. Lots of butterscotch and rich brewed vanilla.

Score: 95 points

Definitely one of the great 40 year old Tawnys! Do you feel that this bottle was showing particularly well or was about a normal score for you?

It seemed about normal to me. I think I'm usually in the 94-96 range on this Port, but I'd have to query the db to be sure. I've had a lot of them - it was a no-brainer buy for me during the FTLOP Noval offering!
