TN: 2004 Quinta do Noval Douro red

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 2.5 hrs. Dark red with a tiny touch of brown. Pleasant interesting aroma of berries and oak. Absolutely full body. Powerful, elegant, but also some rough tannins in an acceptable way towards the end. Also some spices in the taste. Long aftertaste. A “big” wine that is possible slightly above the top. 92 pts.

While still very under the radar, Noval is making some nice Douro wines and this early one was quite good last I had it some time ago. So it's good to read it's still holding up nicely.

I have just one left. Loved it prior to release. Enjoyed it again in 2010 and will save the last one for years.
