Pocas Colheita 1992 (bottled 2011)
This 19 year-old tawny appears very bright in the glass, with an orange-brown shine to it. High viscosity.
On the nose, orange zest, dark dried fruits, a bit of alcohol (but not overwhelming), chocolate, toffee, all pretty expressive but nicely balanced.
On the palate, the orange-zest comes back, nice acidity, silky mouthfeel. Medium sweetness, which is nice - not overwhelming. Long aftertaste, fruit dominated.
Conclusion: nice balanced 19-year old colheita. A bit to much acidity and orange for my taste (could have used some more wood), but I can see the charm in this fresh, fruity style. The price is the best deal, less than 16 euro's at a wholesaler.
