TN: 2009 Poeira Douro red

2 hrs decanting. Purple colour. Initially the aroma was not so appealing. More like a sweaty sock from the gym! After 2 hrs decanting that smell disappeared, and a lovely aroma of flowers, perfume and vanilla appeared. Medium body. Smooth, fruity, powerful. Medium length in the aftertaste. I have enjoyed the 2005 Poeira, the 2008 was OK but no more, however the 2009 is again at a very good level (providing the minimum 2 hrs decanting time). 90 pts.
