1942 Niepoort Vintage Port

1 litre bottle. Mid-red colour, orange on the rim. Restrained nose, opening in the glass and showing fresh flowers and fresh cut fruit. Amazing palate impact, big presence and with masses of fruit - still tannic and with lovely balancing acidity. Big, sweet aftertaste, but with a dry cocoa powder essence. Fantastic port. 97/100. Drunk 16-Dec-10 after a 3 hour decant.
