1985 Fonseca Vintage Port

1985 Fonseca Porto Vintage - Portugal, Douro, Porto (9/25/2012)
Stored in a very damp cellar. Labels are falling off. Dark color, but lightening a bit on the rim. Nose is full of cherries and plums. Big entry,. Very smooth and suave in the mouth. Fills the entire palate. Long finish that is wonderfully fresh. There is a classic hint of grapefruit in the finish. This wine was very closed until the last few years. It has really come around and is actually quite approachable. Certainly it's better on the second day. Serve at just above cellar temp for maximum enjoyment. An Exceptional Port! (95 pts.)
