TN: 2009 Valle do Nideo Reserva Douro red

Post by Rune EG »

Unknown Douro red-producer, consumed during dinner at Porto-restaurant before the 2012 FTLOP Harvest Tour.
Decanted 45 minutes. Medium to dark red colour. Aroma of some perfume and some earth. Smooth, but very dry from the middle and out. On border of not being balanced. Medium length aftertaste. 82 pts.

Never heard of this or the other one you posted about. Thanks for the notes on them, I think I'll pass if ever find a bottle of it.

I am of the opinion that low scores are also important for a serious Tasting Note Base like FTLOP.
There has been several occassions where I have avoided purchases of ports and Douro reds when the Tasting notes are indicating an uninteresting wine.
