Old Cockburn at Rare Wine Company

Post by Eric Ifune »

The Rare Wine Company has the 1983 and 1963 Cockburns for $110 and $195 respectively. Also the 1945 Sandemans for $995 and the 1963 Taylors (St James bottled) for $295. Sourced from a British cellar.

I saw that a few minutes ago in my mailbox. I wonder if they accept returns for corked bottles of '83...

Those are some pretty lofty prices, especially for the 1945 Sandeman, a Port that I have loved the couple of times i've consumed it. But nearly $1000? Wow.
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

My thought as well. '63 Cockburn is nothing to write home about either. Decent by itself, but not against, Taylor, Fonseca, Dow, and Graham.... Is it better than Croft? That would be a good head to head.
