1991 Morgan Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 1 hour - Mature red, bricking rim, 90% opaque. Slightly harsh on the nose, tart cranberries and smelling a little stewed. Sharp and aggressive on the palate, but with a good density of fruit and complexity on the mid-palate, which reveals a lovely sweet plum with time. Tannins are almost fully resolved, but show themselves as a delicious spiciness. Heat on the aftertaste, but then a lovely lingering finish of dark chocolate and raisins. Showing rather well and will probably smooth itself out with another couple of hours in the decanter. 89 points
