Decant: 1 hour - Bottled in 1997; the label makes no mention of whether this is filtered or not. Judging by the slight sediment in the bottle, I would assume this to have been filtered. Sealed with a driven cork that fragmented into small pieces when it was opened.
Burnt ochre in colour, looking tawny; 20% opaque. Very bad bottle stink at first and although this blew off, the nose remained unattractive. Sweet and simple palate; lots of brown sugar and walnuts, distinctly tawny in character. Little aftertaste and a finish of soft brown sugar. Not offensive, but not enjoyble either. 80 points
