NV Villar d'Allen 10 Year Old Tawny Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: Not known - Bottled 2012, blended by Miguel Braga. This is an early blend which may change before bottling. The plan is to bottle only in small runs - perhaps 1,000 litres (110 cases) at a time. Deep honey in colour, with a firm mahogany centre. Surprisingly little VA on the nose, just a sharp citrus acidity. On the palate this has a lovely smooth texture, and gentle flavour profile and a soft acidity - lots of dates and dried fig. Gentle mocha on a gentle finish. This is a very gentle and elegant wine. 86 points
