2003 Gould Campbell vintage port

Post by Rune EG »

As I have over the last three years been more and more impressed by this brand of especially 1983 vintage, but also recently 1977 vintage, I decided to study som younger Gould Campbell vintages. Purchased a bottle of 2003 GC vintage for testing, and will buy more for consuming/storing.

Decanted 10.5 hrs. Deep dark red. Subdued aroma of dark red berries, then a lot of spices and some smoked meat. Full body. Smooth/elegant, then more power, nice tannins, a bit spirit towards the end. Medium length aftertaste. A very nice and interesting vintage port to drink. Overall a bit sweet. 93 pts.

You've gotta try the 1985, Rune!!!
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com

Will try to find the 1985.
Not available in the Nordic countries, so next time in U.K. is the best possibility
