Niepoort Colheita 1982 Bottled 1996
Light tawny color with green edges starting to emerge. Nose is on fresh almonds, candied fruits, light caramel, maple syrup, some spices. On the palate, entry is sweet and smooth on candied fruit and caramel flavours, then acidity kicks into mid palate and linger on the finish, flavours of nuts, caramel, nutmeg, old wood. Not as rich, deep and complex as top Colheita from Niepoort but definitively pleasant with enough complexity to place this Port in the quality drink category. 16.5/20

While it will certainly not loose any of its qualities in a near future, I don't think there is any reason to hold onto this Port and expect it to get better with time. Drink when you feel it over the next 10 years imho.
