TN: 2009 Vallado Douro -- By Quinta do Vallado

Post by Andy Velebil »

Saw this at my local Costco last week so grabbed a bottle to try. The entry level Douro from Quinta do Vallado. Light cherries, prominent tannins, a little tar shows up on the light finish. The tannins are a bit much on the finish and mares what is otherwise an enjoyable grilling wine. I think I paid $13 or $14 for this and at that price it's a good value.

Do you grill your wine before it is decanted?
