1963 Fonseca Vintage Port -- Avery-open 3 days

Post by John Vachon »

Hard to think I never posted on this wine(another site-2 years ago-not as great).

Nose: young-big-great

Body: very full

Taste: very big-full-young and great

Aftertaste: long

20/20

My best port I've ever had is the 1945 Croft but the best port I've had the most times is the 1963 Fonseca.

I once did a tasting of six 63 F's all different bottlings-most out of my cellar.

John

Do you know if this is the Avery "own label" vintage port?

Thanks,

Alex

I think I know the reason for the question now I just got a 70 T shipped by Avery but imported by

Corti Brothers(no info on bottling).

Did you get it directly from Corti Brothers? I know Darrell Corti recently released about 5 cases each of T70 and G70 from his cellar that he's had since original release - I would have gotten a few of them by now, but his price was rather high (although I consider the provenance of a bottle from Darrell's cellar to be impeccable).
