2007 Gould Campbell Vintage Port

Post by John M. »

From a 1/2 bottle:

0-2 hours: Deep purple with just a hint of cranberry rim. Grape jam, baked plum on nose and taste. Seems dense. Hint of violets--silky smooth mouth feel with just a slight spirited nature. A moderate finish.

48 Hours: much the same but has smoothed out and is quite lush. Still tannic. Moderate, slightly piquant finish.

72 Hours: Plum and slight floral, hints of sweet leather and dark fruits. Still a bit tannic-moderate finish. Lush and seductive mouth-feel.

So enjoyable, easy to drink, nice layers of fruit, mostly baked sweet plums and a slight floral note at every taste but there are other fruits in there (the finish reminds me of a very ripe nectarine). A fine effort by GC.
