1983 Taylor Vintage Port

Post by John Vachon »

Nose:light but OK

Body: full

Taste: strong-tannic-young

Aftertaste: full-bodied

18/20 points

The best in many a year-young.

* Checked the bottle not a recent purchase-but from WWW(DC) purchased in the early 90's..

I may try a bottle again soon. I have a lot of it. It has not been a super star of the 83 vinatge and not up to other Taylor vintges like 63, 66, 70 and 77 IMHO.
Parker gives it a 94 but I have never had a bottle I could give a 94 . I have given it a 92 on this board in the past.

Did another this time a recent purchase Calf.-WOW just as good-better than the 85 last month.

I've had great luck with the 80-83-85 Taylors.
