I was going to suggest the same thing. I'm sure they'd be happy to sell another lot, and you'd get it cheaper than what I paid!

In a way, am surprised that they let me get it. One could scavenge these auctions after the fact, avoiding bidding wars... just go in the day after and see if anything interesting had been passed on.

Glad to hear it worked out. But yeah, it does seem a little odd that they'd agree to it. Though at least a couple of sites automatically move failed lots to retail anyway, so this isn't that much different.

I am assuming you did pay the buyer's premium. Based on that, I'm not too surprised. They were willing to sell it for that minimum yesterday, so why not today? You avoid the bidding war, at the risk of not getting anything at all.

I am certain that I am being charged a buyer's premium. Didn't even ask, but cant see how not...

Heads up that their Holiday Auction is also open.
There are a number of interesting lots (some of them fairly large). Plenty of 1963 bottles, some from before.
One of the lots is a bottle of Scion (lot 1147).

I'm not going to put in any bids at the holiday auction. To me the most interesting lots were:
685 - 2003 Quinta Noval Nacional x6
864 - A mixed lot highlighted by 1985 Fonseca and 1994 Quinta do Noval
