1988 Graham's Malvedos Vintage Port

Post by Jim R. »

tasted 7/23/10
Ruby with amber rim
on opening-closed toasty blackberry nose, strongly flavored and tannic
4 hr decant-slightly musty blackberry, mocha, plum nose, soft blackberry flavors, noticeable tannins with great acid structure, a little on the sweet side, excellent finish, will wait another 5 yrs for the next one (or not)
6 hr decant- some metallic notes creeping in on the nose, soft, integrated and powerful flavors, excellent

Jim,
Pretty much in line with my last experience with this VP earlier this year. A very nice bottle that is drinking quite well at the moment, and while it may not get profoundly better, it will be a very nice drinking VP for many more years to come.
