TN: 1970 Dow Vintage Port

Decant: 30 minutes - 2 hours - Transparent appearance but more pink / rose coloured at the rim than orange. Again subdued on the nose but distinct aroma of bitter cherries and tobacco with some spirit showing through. Sweet into the mouth and then an explosion of blackberries and brambles with an acidic structure and distinct chocolate tone. Interesting to note the lack of obvious tannins. Long length of chocolate and cream. A lovely wine that just grew in the glass - and also clear to me that I cannot pick up the reputed dryness of the Dow style of wine without more research! 92 points
