TN: 1966 Fonseca Vintage Port

Decant: 5 hours - Deepest colour of all the '66 ports tasted this evening, centre barely transparent. Warm and inviting on the nose with a touch of alcohol showing over stewed plums. Initially sweet when hitting the tongue with tannins showing as a light layer of dust. Lovely, fruity and refined. Great mid-palate that just doesn't stop growing as one layer after another - brown sugar and pomegranite juice. Huge aftertaste that fills the mouth and cheeks until you have to take another mouthful. Superb. 9/10. 95 points
