TN: 2003 Graham Vintage Port

Post by Al B. »

Decant: 2 hours - Deep colour, opaque and dark purple. Masive dose of blackcurrants on the nose, and a bit of black pepper for interest. Pure blackcurrant juice in the mouth, hugely fruity and with tannins present but never dominating - but then the acidity makes an appearance, but never too strongly. There is a great balance to the palate of this port. Despite the overwhelming fruitiness, there is a wonderful complexity about this wine. The aftertaste is very big, with the tannins coating the cheeks with dark chocolate but the fruit showing clearly. This will be a great port in 30 years. 93 points
